Aturuxo 2020 is a red wine from Pedro Méndez, produced in the Val do Salnés sub-zone, in Rías Baixas. This wine is made from native grapes such as Caíño Tinto, grown in decomposed granitic soils that provide a distinctive minerality. The winery follows sustainable and low-intervention viticultural practices, allowing the terroir to fully express itself in each bottle.

Pedro Méndez does a great job of recovering native varieties from the area, making wines outside the DO. Caiño Tinto is a native Galician strain known for its acidity and aromatic capacity. These grapes come from old vineyards located in the Rías Baixas region, specifically in Val do Salnés. The combination of granitic soils and the Atlantic climate give this wine a characteristic freshness and salinity.

Aturuxo's production  It follows traditional processes with fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging in French oak barrels, which contributes to the complexity and depth of the wine. The result is an excellent wine with very low production and low alcohol content.

Tasting Notes

This wine has a bright ruby ​​red colour. On the nose, it displays aromas of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, complemented by floral and herbaceous notes. On the palate, it is elegant and well-structured, with balanced acidity and soft tannins. The red fruit flavours are intertwined with mineral touches and a long, persistent finish.
