Vinos con Memoria (Wines with Memory)

Iria Otero, creator of the Vinos con Memoria project, produces small-batch Galician wines from Leiro, in the Avia river valley, within one of the historical areas of Ribeiro. An oenologist from A Coruña, she began her personal project in 2017 after extensive experience in leading wineries, including Dominio do Bibei.

Her work focuses on old vineyards, small plots, and traditional Galician varieties, with a perspective deeply connected to the landscape and the wine-making memory of the area. Iria is committed to responsible viticulture, avoiding aggressive practices and seeking balance between the health of the vine, the expression of the soil, and the personality of each vintage.

In the winery, her philosophy is precise and non-interventionist. She works with careful elaborations, aging in different containers, and techniques that respect the character of the varieties and each plot. Her wines typically stand out for their subtlety, freshness, depth, and gastronomic versatility.

The project also has a family dimension, with the active participation of her partner Miguel in the vineyard work. Together they have built an honest, artisanal proposal that is very connected to modern-day Ribeiro: wines with history, sensibility, and a distinctly Galician identity.
