The harvest at Veigamoura is carried out by hand, ensuring that the grapes arrive at the winery in less than six hours after being picked. This speed guarantees the freshness and quality of each grape. Once in the winery, the grapes are subjected to gentle and prolonged pressure to release the pulp without extracting the flavonoids from the skin, thus avoiding those astringent and herbaceous flavours that nobody wants.
The resulting must undergoes a static settling process at low temperatures and is then fermented with indigenous yeasts. Although this method is more laborious, the result is a wine with a distinctive and complex aromatic profile. After fermentation, the wine is aged on its fine lees, with regular batonnage to develop its structure and protect it from oxidation.
Veigamoura's Albariño is of high quality, known for its clear aromas and its ability to age well in the bottle. It offers excellent balanced acidity with fruity and floral notes typical of Albariño, complemented by a soft and enveloping texture thanks to its aging on lees.
