Description
O Fogar do Castriño 2020 · Albariño from Rías Baixas
O Fogar do Castriño 2020 is an Albariño with deep roots in the Val do Salnés, produced by the Nanclares y Prieto winery from vines located in the Inxertal and A Granxa plots in Sisán. The granite and sandy soils, along with the influence of the Atlantic, give life to an exceptional terroir that imparts freshness and minerality to the wine.
Nanclares y Prieto is a project that works in sustainable agriculture, with century-old vines cultivated in poor soils of decomposed granite and sand. The 2020 vintage was especially favorable, with a temperate climate that allowed for perfect grape ripening.
In the winery, vinification is carried out with respect and precision: fermentation in a 500-liter chestnut barrel, aging on the lees for 24 months (with batonnage in the first month), and bottling without filtering or clarifying, followed by 21 months of rest in the bottle. A process that gives the wine structure, complexity, and authenticity.
