Teimosía 2018 is the fruit of a passionate collaboration between Martín Crusat, Dominique Roujou de Boubée and Joaquín "Quín" Álvarez, a historic winemaker from O Rosal. This red wine captures the unique essence of the region, benefiting from its proximity to the Miño River and the Atlantic, which gives it a distinctive microclimate.
The vineyards, situated on sandy-clay soils on decomposed schists, offer ideal conditions for the ripening of the Caíño Tinto, Castañal and Sousón grapes. This last varietal, Castañal, was rescued and reintroduced by "Quín" Álvarez, adding a layer of uniqueness and heritage to this wine.
The production of Teimosía 2018 includes spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by a 10-month aging in used French oak barrels of different sizes and stainless steel tanks. Production is limited, with only 2,315 bottles, which underlines the artisanal and exclusive character of this wine. The combination of traditional and modern techniques in winemaking highlights the pure expression of the O Rosal terroir.
Tasting Notes
This wine has a deep, opaque red color, while on the nose it displays an explosion of aromas of violets, black fruits and an earthy nuance. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, with a notable acidity that gives it freshness and vivacity, culminating in a persistent and enveloping finish. The integration of the different elements makes Teimosía 2018 a rich and complex oenological experience.
