As Abeleiras 2021 is a wine from a small plot located in the Salnés Valley, in Meaño. This area is renowned for its high-quality vineyards due to its unique geographical and climatic characteristics. The valley receives nearby sea breezes and enjoys optimal sunshine, which favors vine development. Furthermore, the region's soils, composed of decomposed granite and rich in organic matter, lend a distinctive character to the wines produced here.

This vineyard holds great sentimental value, as it was the first one Pedro Méndez planted with his father in 1996. This family bond is reflected in the care and dedication put into making As Abeleiras 2021. 

The production of As Abeleiras 2021 begins with a manual selection of the bunches on the estate. They are then destemmed and left to macerate for 12 hours at a controlled temperature. The must is then pressed and transferred to a stainless steel tank, where it ferments spontaneously with its native yeasts. No malolactic fermentation takes place, and the fine lees are worked through batonnage. In this vintage, the wine was neither clarified nor tartar-stabilized. Before bottling, a rough filtration was carried out, and SO2 was added in moderate doses.

The result is a fresh, citrusy, and saline wine, with a notable volume on the palate and great aging potential. As Abeleiras 2021 stands out for its freshness and liveliness, reflecting both the terroir of the Salnés Valley and the dedication and passion of its creator.
