Clarabal is a winery that embodies the centuries-old tradition between viticulture and the Cistercian order, whose presence has been maintained on the slopes of the Miño River. This winery is a clear example of heroic, organic and natural viticulture, a philosophy that guides all its practices. and that is reflected in each of its wines.
Clarabal red wine comes from a small plot in the Miño Valley. This wine is mainly composed of the Mencía grape variety, complemented by a small proportion of Garnacha and indigenous white varieties, which gives it complexity and richness.
Fermentation and winemaking takes place in a traditional manner in French oak barrels. This process includes a 7-month aging in barrels that previously held white wine, which adds an additional layer of freshness and sophistication to the final product.
Tasting Notes
Clarabal highlights several essential aspects. As for the colour, it has a medium-high layer with an attractive cherry red colour and violet reflections that anticipate its vivacity and youth. On the nose, it has a high intensity where aromas of fresh red fruit can be perceived, nuanced with floral tones and subtle hints of roasted and toasted flavours, the result of its time in the barrel.
On the palate, the wine is fresh and silky, with a well-balanced structure that makes it very pleasant and easy to drink. The flavour is round and well-integrated, with an acidity that enhances its freshness and a persistence that invites you to continue tasting it.
