Clarabal is a winery that embodies the centuries-old tradition of viticulture and the Cistercian order, whose presence has been maintained on the slopes of the Miño River. This winery is a clear example of heroic, organic, and natural viticulture, a philosophy that guides all its practices and is reflected in each of its wines.
Clarabal red wine comes from a small plot in the Miño Valley. This wine is composed primarily of the Mencía grape variety, complemented by a small proportion of Garnacha and native white varieties, giving it complexity and richness.
The wine is fermented and produced using traditional methods in French oak barrels. This process includes a seven-month aging process in barrels that previously held white wine, adding an additional layer of freshness and sophistication to the final product.
Tasting Notes
Clarabal highlights several key aspects. In terms of color, it has a medium-high depth of color, an attractive cherry red color with violet hues that hint at its vivacity and youthfulness. On the nose, it has a high intensity, revealing aromas of fresh red fruit, nuanced with floral tones and subtle hints of roasted and toasted notes, a result of its aging in the barrel.
On the palate, the wine is fresh and silky, with a well-balanced structure that makes it very pleasant and easy to drink. The flavor is round and well-integrated, with an acidity that enhances its freshness and a persistence that invites continued enjoyment.
